Timestamp Camera
Support
Timestamp Camera takes photos with the date, time, address, GPS coordinates, and a small map stamped on them, and can stamp photos you already took. It is free, needs no account, and keeps everything on your iPhone.
Common help
- The stamp you see in the viewfinder is exactly what is saved on the photo.
- Tap the speech-bubble button to add a note, such as a job number or client name. It is printed on every photo until you change it.
- Change the date format, position, text size, colour, and which details are shown in Settings.
- The GPS badge at the top shows how accurate the position is. Outdoors it is usually within 10 m (30 ft); indoors it can be much less accurate.
- The address and map need an internet connection. Offline, photos are still stamped with the time and GPS coordinates.
- To stamp photos you already took, tap the photo-with-plus button and pick up to 30 photos. Each photo is stamped with the date and place saved in it, not today’s date. Photos without a saved date are labelled “Stamped (photo had no date)”.
Where are my photos?
- Every stamped photo is kept in the app (tap the thumbnail next to the shutter) and, if you allow it, added to your photo library.
- If a photo shows a warning in the app’s history, it was not added to your library. Allow “Add Photos Only” for Timestamp in the iOS Settings app, then open the photo and tap Save to Photos.
- Deleting a photo in the app does not delete the copy in your photo library.
About the stamp
The stamp shows the phone’s clock and GPS position at the moment the photo is taken. They cannot be edited in the app. The stamp is a record for your work and your clients; it is not a certified legal proof.
