Timestamp Camera

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2, 2026

Timestamp Camera is a local-first camera app, published by Mentalist Apps, that stamps the date, time, address, GPS coordinates, and a small map onto photos.

Camera and photos

The app uses the camera only while you have it open, to take the photos you ask for. Stamped photos are stored in the app on your iPhone and, if you allow it, added to your photo library. When you stamp existing photos, only the photos you pick in the iOS photo picker are read; the app cannot see the rest of your library. Your original photos are never changed.

Location

If you allow location access, the app reads your position while it is open, to stamp it on photos. Positions are not stored by the developer and are not sent to the developer. To show a street address and a small map, the position is sent to Apple’s address lookup and map services through Apple’s own iOS frameworks; Apple handles that request under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Without location access, photos are stamped with the date and time only.

Data stored on your device

Stamped photos, small preview images, the list of stamped photos with their dates and places, and your stamp settings (including the optional note you type) are stored locally on your iPhone. No account or developer-managed backend is required.

Sharing

When you share a photo, iOS passes it to the destination you choose. The developer does not receive shared photos through the app. Shared photos contain the stamp and the date and GPS information saved inside the photo file.

Advertising and privacy choices

Timestamp Camera displays banner advertising using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The Google User Messaging Platform manages consent and privacy choices where required. The app does not give your GPS position or your photos to Google. Depending on your choices, region, device settings, and applicable law, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address or approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics, and advertising performance information to provide, measure, and protect advertising.

Google handles this information under its own policies and terms. Review Google’s Privacy Policy. You can revisit available ad privacy choices from Timestamp Camera Settings when that option is available.

What the developer does not operate

Mentalist Apps does not require an account, does not operate a server for your photos or locations, and does not send your photos, positions, or notes to a developer-managed service. The current release does not include developer-managed analytics or crash reporting.

Deletion

Delete photos from the app’s history at any time; copies already added to your photo library stay there until you delete them in Photos. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. Data processed by Google for advertising is subject to Google’s retention and deletion practices.
