Time Card Calculator
Support
Time Card Calculator adds up your shifts, breaks, and overtime for a weekly or bi-weekly pay period and estimates your gross pay. Everything stays on your iPhone.
Common help
- Tap a day, or the + button, to add a shift. An end time earlier than the start time means the shift ended after midnight.
- Use Clock in now when you start working and Clock out when you finish. A shift in progress is not counted until you clock out.
- A day can hold several shifts, for example a split shift.
- Set your hourly rate, pay period, week start day, and overtime rules in Settings. For bi-weekly pay, pick a date when one of your pay periods started.
- Use the share button to export a PDF time card or a CSV spreadsheet for the period on screen.
How overtime is calculated
- Weekly overtime counts hours over your weekly limit (40 hours by default) inside each workweek. In a bi-weekly period, each week is checked on its own.
- Optional daily overtime counts hours over your daily limit (8 hours by default). Optional double time counts hours over a second daily limit (12 hours by default).
- Hours already counted as daily overtime or double time are not counted again toward the weekly limit.
- A shift counts toward the day it starts.
- Rounding rules, shift differentials, tips, taxes, deductions, and California’s seventh-day rule are not included.
Results are estimates of gross pay. They are not payroll, legal, or tax advice. Check your employer’s policy and your local law.
